By downloading, installing, or using the Plant Triage mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Service Description

Plant Triage is an AI-powered mobile application that provides plant identification, health diagnosis, and care recommendations based on user-submitted photos. The App uses multiple artificial intelligence models to analyze plant images and generate informational guidance.

2. User Accounts

You may create an account using email, Google Sign-In, or Apple Sign-In. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate and current information when creating your account.

3. AI Disclaimer

Plant Triage's AI-generated diagnoses, identifications, and care recommendations are provided for informational purposes only. They do not constitute professional horticultural, agricultural, or veterinary advice. Specifically:

AI results may not always be accurate. Plant identification and health diagnosis are complex and AI models can make mistakes.
Confidence scores indicate the AI's certainty level but do not guarantee correctness.
Pet toxicity information is sourced from databases including ASPCA data, but should not replace consultation with a veterinarian.
Treatment plans are general guidance. Always consult a qualified professional for critical plant health issues or pet safety concerns.

You use AI-generated results at your own risk.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Plant Triage offers free and paid subscription tiers:

Free — Limited scans and plant slots with basic features.
Premium — Expanded scan limits, unlimited plants, full treatment plans, and priority processing.
Pro — Highest scan limits, ensemble AI validation, PDF export, and all Premium features.

All subscriptions and in-app purchases are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. By subscribing, you agree to the following:

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual) unless canceled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
Free trial periods, where offered, convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless canceled beforehand.
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device's App Store or Google Play settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective refund policies.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
Upload content that is harmful, offensive, or violates the rights of others.
Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the App.
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, other users' accounts, or the AI models.
Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the App or its APIs.
Circumvent scan limits, subscription restrictions, or other usage controls.

6. User Content

You retain ownership of the plant images and data you submit. By uploading content to the App, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and transmit your content solely for the purpose of providing the service. We do not use your images to train AI models.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, features, design, and functionality of the Plant Triage App are owned by us and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. The AI models, analysis algorithms, and plant care databases are proprietary.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the App at any time if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we determine, in our sole discretion, is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support@planttriage.app.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App.
We are not liable for any loss or damage to plants, animals, or property resulting from actions taken based on AI-generated recommendations.
Our total liability for any claims related to the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

10. Changes to Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify you of material changes via the App or email.
